City of Design Talk: At the Station
September 9 @ 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
Fri, Sep 11 |
The Study @ Michigan Central
Bringing Architecture, Sound, Product Design & Community into Conversation
How do the spaces, objects, sounds, and experiences around us shape the way we connect?
Moderated by Evan Nicole Brown, a freelance writer for CULTURED, the conversation will feature artist Salam Rida, a 2025 Michigan Central x Newlab Fellow and Detroit Month of Design exhibitor; architect Jaimelyn Neher, a key contributor to The Mezz at Michigan Central; and architect Anthony Morin of AJOM Architecture.
Together, they’ll explore the intersection of architecture, emerging design, audio, product design, and community – considering how creative disciplines can make spaces feel more welcoming, expressive, and alive. Set inside Michigan Central, the conversation reflects the spirit of the evening: a celebration of the visual and performing arts, Detroit’s creative ecosystem, and the power of design to shape the city’s next chapter.
The talk will begin promptly at 6:30PM, followed by a musical performance by EDNA and sound by Bing Audio.
