Make Your Own, Kid!
Traditional education often struggles to keep pace
with emerging technology. This leaves a gap in
creative and technical skills, turning our youth into
passive consumers of digital media.
We see an opportunity to change that. We equip
youth with 21st-century literacy by turning digital
jargon into actionable creative tools.
Our philosophy: ‘Art as Activism through Play”

Tinker Labs L3c: Kit Bashing a community of Makerspaces:
Building a Community of Intentional Makerspaces
Planted in Detroit communities. We invite everyday people to explore the creative environments of a community of folk who practice their crafts and trades as services.
Babu’s Rules of Inclusive Community Engagement
We welcome all ages to join our workshops and projects, and share their skills. But until we are all familiar with your tiny people, they need to be kept very close.
Tinker Labs kicks it up a few notches
Hands-On Learning Required
We make and break things on purpose, here. And some of us fix things because it’s fun. And the luckiest of us get to say, “And uh… Yeah. It’s my day job too! Can you believe that? LOL.” And most of the time, someone will be here to show you around, tell you what things are and do, and help you make what you want made.
And, we’re looking for experts to present workshops. Caregivers are encouraged to actively participate in our exciting “Safety Third!” episodes.
Which can start with Babu Uly growling, “Don’t tell that baby they can’t! ..
Yeah, but my…
Not in my house.”
