Effective neighborhood ministry sometimes
means being involved in the challenges of others
people’s lives – precisely so we can walk with the
person and invite Jesus into the situation,
whether it be grief over a loss, financial hardship,
homelessness, difficult living, or family situations,
or any number of other challenges.

I became friends with Genevieve Kocourek while I was learning to build and run a tool library. She helps me remember the joy I experience from what others call work, I call the service of helping communities do good for each other.

The East Warren Tool Library taught me that one of the great burdens of individualism is the amount of stuff needed in individual wrapped uniform portions to sustain the illusion of quality and freedom.
